Jason Schaeffer co-founded NameSummit to provide a platform to discuss leading trends in branding, influencer marketing, social media, and specifically showcase the continuing evolution of domain names as an important part of a great brand or advertising campaign. Before there were Instagram and Twitter, Jason was helping Fortune 100 Brands like NFL Properties and Pfizer protects their trademarks and polices their online presence. Since then he has worked in the domain name industry as a leader in protecting and selling some of the world’s premier .COM domain names and domain portfolios.
He is also active in Registry/Registrar and ICANN Policy discussions. Today he is assisting DotMusic Ltd. in its quest to run, what will be a “game changer” – a safe, trusted, community-based gTLD for .MUSIC. The idea behind .MUSIC is to provide the platform to sell, share and distribute music in a way that benefits the creators, protects their brand and their Intellectual Property. Previously, Jason also helped .TUBE secure the rights to operate, and he handled ICANN Compliance matters, coordinated with its back-end technical provider, and handled Registry-Registrar Channel operations for the company.
Complementing his many successful UDRP defenses, he has obtained a significant number of Reverse Domain Hijacking Decisions (RDNH) and is always looking to find ways to help clients protect their assets, names, and bring new ideas to life. He looks forward to welcoming you to NameSummit and continuing the discussion.
